Yesterday evening there was a man shot by police in Rockford, IL. The man had warrants and after a car chase that ended in a crash, the suspect appeared as though he was going to carjack another vehicle. The officer thought he had a gun and fired 5 times hitting the suspect 3 times. When the smoke cleared, there was no suspect gun. Sounds like Kenosha but maybe with even less justification. Being only 80 miles or so from Chicago, there may be some unrest even though the authorities requested that things stay calm until the investigation is complete. Not sure what odds you want to give that request. Stay alert, keep your eyes open & your head on a swivel if you need to be in this area until we see how it shakes out.
Man shot by Rockford police officer Friday in critical condition!
